Only relatively a few years ago the main place to rent a villa near Disney was around the Kissimmee area.

Whilst many new communities have continued to be developed the area of Davenport has developed substantially with many new communities and facilities now available.

Some of the most well known communities are located either;-
a) Off the 192 such as Formosa Gardens
b) Around Championsgate / Reunion such as Lake Wilson Preserve
c) Off Highway 27 such as Tuscan Ridge or Calabay Parc

The shopping facilities and restaurants have improved tremendously over recent years in the Davenport area. Whilst there are numerous different eating places to choose from along the 192, many family restaurants can be found along the Highway 192. Many are also now available at different stages along the 192 between the junction with the 192 and the Interstat4. They include Cracker Barrell, Applebee’s, Dennys etc to name but a few.

In addition the golf courses available within Championsgate and off Highway 27 provide everything whatever your standard.

A visit to Orlando would not be complete without some serious shopping. The new development of Posner Park at the junction of the Interstate 4 with Highway 27 provides something for all the family – Target, J.C. Penney, Belk, Dick's Sporting Goods, Best Buy, Staples, Ross, Michael's, PetSmart and Books-A-Million to name but a few.

The development of the shopping area which includes Walmart at the Northern end of Highway 27 just past the 192 provides opportunity to gain some excellent bargains.

The majority of visitors to Davenport will visit one or more of the Theme Parks. Easy access can be gained to all via the 192 or Interstate 4. All in all an excellent area to choose your Orlando Rental home for your stay.

Located in the north-eastern section of Polk County, Davenport is one of the fastest growing areas of Central Florida, due to its close proximity to Walt Disney World and other major tourist attractions.

Polk County has zoned much of the land to the north of Davenport for short-term rental development. As a result there has been a huge growth in recent years of private villas for vacation rental, with tourist preferring the flexibility and luxury of villa life, in comparison to the traditional hotels and motels of International Drive and Kissimmee area.

Davenport is truly located in the centre of Florida with the Atlantic Ocean 50 miles to the east and the Gulf of Mexico 75 miles to the west as the crow flies.

Davenport is located only 10 miles from Walt Disney World Resort along Interstate 4. Just a short drive are the other major tourist attractions including Epcot, MGM Studios, Animal Kingdom, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Sea World and Wet ‘n’ Wild Water Park.

For those flying in, Orlando International airport (MCO) is located about 30 miles from Davenport; Orlando Sanford International airport (SFB) is 51 miles and Tampa International Airport (TPA) 63 miles west of Davenport. Drive times dependent on traffic is circa 37, 57 and 63 minutes respectively.

Davenport has a warm climate, and is humid during the summertime, with small-scattered heavy thundershowers almost daily. These storms tend to pass quickly, giving way to the Florida sunshine before long.

High temperatures (F) range from the low 70’s to the mid 90’s, and low temperatures range from the upper 40’s to the low 70’s. June to September thunderstorms produce rainfall of around 7 inches (~178mm) per month, whereas for the rest of the year, the rainfall average is around 2.75 inches (~70mm) per month.

Davenport truly is a great location for a vacation base with accommodation to match.
