Sandy Ridge, is a popular location for vacationers. It is located in between two large wooded reserves and is highly sought after offering all the peace and tranquillity you need after a hectic schedule in the parks. Within the community are small areas of water which many villas back on to for a peaceful view from the pool.

Location of Sandy Ridge

Sandy Ridge, Davenport, is perfectly located to visit the sights and attractions of Orlando Florida. Situated off State Road 532 just off Highway 17/92 leading to Kissimmee,or Interstate 4 junction 58 for easy access to Tampa on the Gulf Coast or Daytona beach on the Atlantic coast. A 10 minute drive along Old Lake Wilson Road leads to the busy 192 area (marker 5) with its fabulous choice of restaurants and entertainment. As a closer alternative the Champions Gate development is just 5 minutes drive away along a quiet dual carriageway lined with palm trees past the entrance of Reunion a multi-million dollar Golf Resort.

At Championsgate is a Publix Supermarket, Macdonald's, Subway, a BP gas station, banking facilities and other small retail outlets. There is also a Chinese takeaway and Italian restaurant, Chilis family restaurant all whom provide delivery to the Sandy Ridge area.

At the junction of Old Lake Wilson Road just 2 minutes away from Sandy Ridge is a new Publix, Bank of America, Pizza Hut, Dunkin Donuts, gas station and CVS pharmacy and MacDonalds.

Attractions near Sandy Ridge

Disney is the closest major attraction to Sandy Ridge. Within around 10-15 minutes you could be visiting either of the four main parks or two water parks, plus the numerous other Disney attractions.

13 Miles along the I4 takes you to junction 71 to SeaWorld, Discovery Cove and Aquatica. 10 miles further north on the I4 takes you to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.

If you have a golfer within your group, you will find two of the worlds best golf courses within 2 miles of Sandy Ridge. There are two Greg Norman designed courses and a David Leadbetter Golf Academy at Champions Gate. Even closer is the upscale resort of Reunion, home to three championship courses.

Restaurants near Sandy Ridge

At Champions Gate which is a 2-3 minute drive, you will find a Chillis restaurant, McDonalds and a small Pizza Hut for collections or home deliveries. Also a Dunkin Donuts - Great for a little treat!

A 10 minute drive down road 545 Old Lake Wilson Road takes you to the 192, with a vast array of restaurants. Too many to mention but includes, Cracker Barrel, TGI Fridays, Black Angus, Perkins, Ponderosa, Red Lobster, Outback, enough in fact for a different style of eatery every night of the week.

Shopping near Sandy Ridge

Within 2-3 minutes drive of the community you will find Publix for supermarket shopping (2 stores), you will also find pharmacies of CSV and Walgreens, a couple of gas stations and banks, not forgetting to mention several small independent shops.

More shopping is available 10 minutes away at Posner Park where you will find Target, J.C. Penney, Best Buy, Dicks Sporting Goods, Belk Department Stores and more.

Take a trip north up Interstate I4 and within 30 minutes you would have the options of Orlando Premium Outlets, or Florida Mall.

Other places to go near Sandy Ridge

For something different, visit Disney Celebration. This is not another Disney theme park but a purpose built residential community. With a selection of small shops, restaurants, a lovely lake to walk around and there is even a cinema which doubles up as a Church. Its a nice quiet alternative on days when you want to go at a slower pace or experience a relaxing evening meal.

For a more adventurous day, easy access to Interstate I4 gives you the option of visiting Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay. Head in the other direction and you have the option of Kennedy Space Centre or Cocoa beach.
